Why I CrossFit:
It's fun, constantly varied, challenging, competitive, and involves a community of like-minded individuals. If you're looking for general physical preparedness, it works better than any other workout program on the planet.

What I love about CrossFit Positive Impact:
It gives me the opportunity to introduce FCHS students to something that I'm passionate about and in doing so, make kids better, faster, stronger in a fun and safe environment.

What’s surprising/interesting about me?
I'm a local: I attended Percy Pegler Elementary School (Okotoks), Okotoks Jr. High School and Oilfields High School (Black Diamond) where I played football for the Drillers. After high school I played NAIA Football at Carroll College in Helena, MT and at the University of Alberta for the Golden Bears where I pursued my Education degree. I stay very active throughout the year by competing in CrossFit competitions, mountain bike races, obstacle course runs and sprint distance triathlons.

Why I CrossFit:
I CrossFit because it's my sport. Although I never took to team sports, I love pushing myself to be better in all ways. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. CrossFit allows me a safe space to learn about my abilities and grow. What I do in CrossFit directly impacts the rest of my life. Coming from a very unfit place in my younger life, CrossFit has shown me what I am capable of, and most importantly, how what I am capable of is much more important than outside appearances that we sometimes get caught up in. I have learned to be confident in my skin which transcends looks. Because of CrossFit I am up for any challenge life throws at me - and to me, that is success.

What I love about CrossFit Positive Impact:
If only I had the opportunity to start CrossFit in High School! I think it's just amazing that students have this ability to come to the box in their own school and push, learn, laugh and gain strength, confidence, and the community that comes with CrossFit.

What is surprising/interesting about me:
Not so surprising...I love to lift. And move. I make it a point to always say yes to challenges. I love travelling and camping and being outside. Skiing and biking are my other favorite sports. I also enjoy learning new things, taking courses and reading cool stuff about biology and our bodies. Super nerd.
